Talk of a Lifetime
Meaningful conversations about the life you want remembered.
FAMIC initiative
The Funeral and Memorial Information Council (FAMIC) created Have the Talk of a Lifetime to help families have important conversations about the things that matter most - and how a person's life should be celebrated.
Deep down, most of us want to know that we made a difference. Having the Talk of a Lifetime can help reacquaint us with our loved ones' stories and values. You can have this talk with anyone you hold dear - parents, children, grandparents, a spouse, or a friend - anywhere you feel comfortable.
Sometimes a visual prompt helps: a photo album, souvenir, or meaningful place in the Bow Valley. Share a memory about a vacation, a piece of advice you cherish, a song that reminds you of them, or the reasons you will never forget them.
Conversation starters
- What was the one piece of advice you received from your parents or grandparents that you never forgot?
- Tell me about the most memorable summer you had growing up.
- Tell me about your favourite teacher; what did you learn from them?
- If you could spend a day doing anything you like, what would it be?
We're here 24/7
